The request has been the same for a year, in various wordings. It drafts well, but it does not draft like me.

Quick Draft and Quick Reply now take a Style Reference. Attach one document you have written, and the draft follows how that document is built: how you open, how you number, how you phrase a prayer, where you put the verification.

Why it needed a new input

We were already using your own material to shape style. SMRITI, the search behind your uploads, pulls relevant documents in as you draft, and the way those documents are written influences the result.

The trouble is that SMRITI ranks what it retrieves by legal weight. A Supreme Court judgment on your point outranks a plaint you filed last March, and it should, because the judgment is what you need for the argument. But it meant your own drafting rarely reached the top of the pile, and style was arriving as a suggestion rather than an instruction.

A Style Reference is not retrieved and not ranked. You name the document. The model is told to follow it.

Choosing one

This part matters more than it sounds.

Use a real document you actually filed. A draft with its facts and reasoning intact teaches the model your structure, your register, and the small conventions that make a filing look like it came from your chamber.

Do not use a blank template. We tested it: a boilerplate skeleton with the substance stripped out produced noticeably thinner drafts, because the model reads the emptiness as the house style and matches it. A template is the intuitive thing to reach for and it is the wrong thing to reach for.

One document is enough. It works better than several.

What it does not do

It takes style, and only style. Facts, names, figures, dates and citations come from what you tell the model in the brief, never from the reference document. If your reference is a petition for a different client, none of that client's details can reach your draft.

We are strict about this because the failure is so easy and so bad. A model told to follow a document will happily borrow the parties from it too, and you would be filing one client's name in another client's matter. The instruction that separates the two is the whole feature.

Documents come out looking right

Separately, drafts now download as properly formatted documents. Numbered paragraphs, the cause title laid out correctly, headings where headings belong, and tables that render as tables instead of collapsing into a run of text.
